Is Eastern medicine safe?

The U.S. government requires all acupuncturists to follow strict sterilization requirements. Nabacu only uses disposable, FDA-approved needles, which are sterilized by the manufacturer and discarded after one use.

Are acupuncture needles painful?

No. The needles used in acupuncture are extremely thin, some as thin as a strand of hair. First-time patients often describe a tingling sensation, but are pleasantly surprised at how relaxing the overall experience is.

Does Eastern medicine work?

There is a large and growing body of medical research indicating that it is highly effective. For detailed studies relating to specific conditions, please see our list of articles on acupuncture research.

What background do practitioners have?

All our practitioners have graduated from three or four year programs with a M.S. in Acupuncture, passed a state licensing exam, and obtained at least three years of experience. They also participate in Nabacu’s own extensive training and continuing education programs.

What ailments do you treat?

The most common problems that we treat are allergies, back pain, headaches, infertility, insomnia, smoking addictions, and weight gain. Other issues we have treated include:

  • Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Blood pressure, high or low
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Depression
  • Diabetes
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Indigestion
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Menopause-related problems
  • Stroke
  • Tinnitus

What will my treatment experience be like?

On your first visit, you will have a consultation with the Clinic Director. She will create a customized treatment plan for you with specific acupoints for your body and condition. You will then lie down and acupuncture needles will be gently inserted into these acupoints. After allowing you to rest for about half an hour, your acupuncturist will return to remove the needles. The feelings post-treatment are similar to those after exercising; you are likely to feel refreshed and calm. Be sure to rest and drink plenty of water after your acupuncture treatment.
